CADETS 2009

To be the same as last year 1st Sat and 3rd Sunday of each month beg April 3rd.

The Cadet club will re-commence on Apl 3^rd for 2009 and be held as last year on the 1^st Sat and 3^rd Sun of each month.

We will be formalising the structure more this year with more emphasis on structured learning, help from parents will be much appreciated again.

We are also applying to the RYA On Board scheme which will give us access to more dinghies and coaching help. The OB staff also organize a weekend away with other OD club members at Llangorse probably in August.

OB (OnBoard), developed by the RYA (the people who run sailing in the UK), is a programme to help introduce sailing and windsurfing as a sport for youngsters 8yrs- 16yrs of age – whatever their needs and ability.

In Wales OB is administered by the WYA (the welsh division of the RYA)

Gives us avenues into funding streams.

Links us into the system with coaching assistance, boat loan, advice and formalizes the training programme.

There is a Weekend camping/sailing around Aug B/H probably at Llangorse when all the On Board clubs members are invited for friendly competition and social events.

Hopefully it will take our cadets onto the next level and maintain their interest in sailing.
