Clywedog is ideally placed to
learn about sailing as - there are no tides or currents to worry
about, yet there is ample room and weather conditions are sufficiently
changeable to provide a challenging experience.
We currently have a Cadet section
which operates on the 1st Sat & 3rd Sunday of each month and we have the use of
two Access 303 dinghies for those who wish to sail but have limited
mobility.

Whether your interest is in dinghy racing, or navigating at your own pace, for the children, or for your inner child, Clywedog has it all.
Members can use one of the Picos or Funboats for £10 per day
once they have satisfied selected officers of their competence or have
completed an RYA course to at least Stage 1 in the current year, free if you enter a race. If you take one of Staylittle’s
dinghy courses, you can use a Pico
to race the rest of the season at no cost.
Hire of Picos is subject to
availability as the Cadets and those racing will have priority.
Day membership is available to non members at £10 per
dinghy per day (£5.00 a day for Canoes), for which you get use of the clubhouse, kitchen changing and shower facilities. It is a club rule that buoyancy aids must be worn and visitors should have the same minimal insurance as club members - £2m third party, otherwise, whether you bring a dinghy, canoe or windsurf board, we welcome everyone.
Please be aware of the restricted areas on the lake.
Fishing is not permitted from club boats, but the nearby fishing club can arrange permits
